Obituary:
Hollis - Mark P. Tanner, 41 of Bonny Eagle Road, passed away unexpectedly from a suspected drug overdose August 5, 2017. He was born in Sanford, Maine February 16, 1976 the son of Charles and Catherine Parks Tanner.
He attended local schools and later graduated from Falmouth High school in 1994, where he was known for his sense of humor and being the “Class Clown” and maybe just a few other things.
After high school, he worked for his family’s oil business, Kleen Oil Company. Mark and His High School sweet heart Angela did things a little unconventionally; they had a baby and were married a few years later in 1999. They then moved to Hollis in 2001 where they have lived since. In this home they welcomed 3 more children, and also took in some others along the way. Mark was always there to help anyone in need and because of this their home was home to anyone who needed one at the time. His larger than life Persona preceded him where ever he went. He had a rugged outer layer but the biggest heart. He struggled and battled addiction for most of his adult life which robbed him of feeling or knowing just how many people loved him and how many lives he touched and truly changed. Two years ago “Bampy" welcomed “Little Bits“ Who Filled his heart with so much joy and brought him love and comfort in his bumpy road he loved that little girl so much, she has been his favorite pass time ever since. Mark had a very close relationship with his dad they were a force to be reckoned with in any trivia challenge.
He enjoyed all kinds of sports and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He most recently worked for Pit Stop Fuel and Lane Construction.
He leaves behind his wife of over 20 years Angela Tanner of Hollis, his father of Portland Charles Tanner, a son Mark Tanner II, 3 daughters Bridgette Elizabeth, Mary Katelyn and Abigail Noel, a brother Michael Tanner of ME, a sister Tristan Marie Tanner and her husband Chris Tourre of Chicago, 2 grandchildren. Catherine Grace and Anthony Jacob. Grandmother Ruth Parks and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
