Obituary:
Scarborough, George A. Drew, 87, of S, Bridgton Rd passed away Sunday October 9, 2016 at the Maine Veterans home in Scarborough. He was born in Auburn, Me November 22, 1928 the son of George and Vera Shackley Drew.
George grew up in Hollis and graduated from Hollis High School. Following high school he served in the US Navy.
After his service to his country, he worked in the Federal Systems Division for IBM for over 30 years.
He enjoyed his fishing, hunting, gardening, the company of his Sheltie Buddy, his workshop, where he made furniture and dollhouses.
He is survived by his wife of over 66 years of marriage, Doris Drew of Bridgton, 3 sons George Drew Jr. and his wife Colleen of TX., Mark Drew and his wife Jennifer of Maryland, James Drew and his wife Deborah of NY, a daughter Ruth –Ann Leinhos and her husband Philip, a sister Dorothy Diane Red of Steep Falls, 7 grandchildren, David, Kevin, Mark Jr. , Benjamin, Ian, Hayley and Briahnna, and 2 great grandchildren, Cash and Alden.
