Friends and family may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation, 365 Main St, Saco Sunday August 21, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM.
A funeral will be held Monday 1:00PM at the First Parish Congregational Church of Scarborough, Rev. Fred Gagnon will officiate. A procession will follow and proceed past the family house to Black Point Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Frederick and a son David.
Memorial donations may be made in Helen's honor to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 161 Black Point Road, Scarborough, ME 04074.

Scarborough, Helen Litwinowich Brown, 94, of Black Point Rd passed away peacefully at her home. She was born in Biddeford August 6, 1922 the daughter of Victor and Boleslawa Marsalska Litwinowich. The eldest child, she lived on her family's farm in Oakridge with her parents and siblings,Victor,Edward and Frances. She attended local schools and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1939.In 1946, she married Frederick W Brown . Early years were spent in So Portland and Biddeford before finally settling in Scarborough where she remained until her death. Helen worked as an expediter for the Saco Lowell company for several years until she stopped to raise a family. Together she and Fred had 3 children. They enjoyed working on projects together and spending time at "blueberry camp" in Cherryfield Maine. They were married for 38 years until Fred's death in 1984.Helen was a parishioner of the First Congregational Church of Scarborough and an active member of the women's fellowship.Helen was devoted to her friends and family and loved spending time with all. She had a passion for gardening and shared her enthusiasm. Around town she was known for her beautiful flowers and delighted in sharing their cuttings and roots so others could enjoy the same. Summers you would find Helen daily on Ferry Beach where she would visit with a close circle of friends or hunt for sand dollars with her children and grandchildren. Helen had a old world work attitude. She was constantly on the go, but always found the time to stop and write letters or chat on the phone - her favorite past times.
She is predeceased by her husband Frederick, 2 sons Frederick and David.
She is survived by a daughter Carla D. Halvorson and her husband Eric of Frisco, TX, a daughter in law Sandra Brown, 5 grandchildren Sherri Barrett of Brunswick, Kenneth Brown of Portland, Kelsea Halvorson of Frisco, TX, Ethan Halvorson of Frisco, TX and Brianna Brown of Tucson, Arizona and sister-in-law Shirley Brown of Scarborough
