Visiting hours will be from 4-8PM on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St, Saco, ME. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, ME. US Navy Honors will concluded the services.

Obituary:
Arthur “Ray'' Gannon 85 passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Biddeford on April 9,1931, son of the late Arthur R. and Ladora (Miller) Gannon. Ray graduated from Thornton Academy class of 1950. He enlisted in the Navy July 13, 1950 to May 18, 1954 and was a Korean War Veteran.
Ray was hired by the City of Saco as their Assessor in 1966 to 1968. After 2 years he left to work for CLT in 1968 to 1973 and began doing personal property appraisal, assessing property all over New England. He then was hired by the City of Portland Assessor's office in 1973 to 1984. Ray started his own business the ARG-Co as a personal property appraiser traveling all over New England serving different communities. In 1990, he gave up all travel outside the state just concentrating on Maine towns and cities. He retired at age 80.
Ray was a life member of the Biddeford-Saco Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks #1597 and was a past chairman of the Trustees, past chairman of the Investigating Committee for over 20 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Saco Post 96 in Saco, member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #3792 in Saco, member of MAAO, Camp Ellis Rod and Gun Club and NRA.
He was predeceased by one sister Bitina Paiva of Taunton, MA.
He is survived by his wife Rita (Sherillo) Gannon of 34 years, daughters Anne Gannon of Saco, Kathy and her husband Bill Eon of Saco, son David and his wife Julie Gannon of Corte Madera, CA, sister Sandy Adams of Laconia, NH and his grandchildren Marysa and her husband Anthony Santos of Longmeadow, MA, Hannah Eon of Larkspur, CA Kerry Eon and her fiancé Jake Townsend of Limington, ME, Alex Gannon and Jackie Gannon of Corte Madera, CA, two great grandchildren Marianna and Anthony Santos of Longmeadow, MA and many nieces and nephews.
