Friends and relatives may attend a graveside service 11:00 AM Saturday July 16, 2016 at Dunston Memorial Cemetery in Scarborough.
The family would like to give thanks to Hospice of Southern Maine for their great care of William while at Gosnell.
Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation 365 Main St, Saco are in charge of the arrangements.

Obituary:
North Saco, William I. Anderson, 87, of Flag Pond Road, North Saco passed away July 3, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
He was born in Richmond May 14, 1929 the son of Alfred and Gladys Small Anderson.
He worked for Herman Shoe and several shoe shops in the area.
After working for the shoe companies, he drove trucks. Each night he enjoyed putting his loving dog, Mutt, on guard duty. He put Mutt on guard duty the night he went into Hospice and he remains on guard, keeping his loved ones safe.
When his children were younger, he served as a Boy Scout Leader in the 60 and 70’s.
William later raced at many of the local tracks, including Beech Ridge, Arundel and Biddeford in the 50’s and 60’s.
He was a member of The Salvation Army, Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge of Old Orchard Beach.
He is predeceased by his wife Amy Anderson, 2 daughters Louise Anderson and Cindy Anderson and a sister Maxine Merritt.
Survivors include 2 sons Daniel Anderson of Florida, Clayton Anderson of Saco, 2 daughters Gladys Young of Saco and Mary Lou Anderson of Vermont, a brother Ronald Anderson and his wife Etta of Ohio, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,
a great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
