Obituary:
Augusta, Doris ‘Doree” Hamilton, 86 of Sewall St passed away Thursday June 3, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born in Saugus, MA June 17, 1929 the daughter of Henry D and Hazel E. Banks Eskildson.
Doree graduated from Melrose High School, Melrose, MA at 16 and attended Boston Art School.
She and her family lived for many years in the Bar Mills section of Buxton. She was an active member of the First Parish Congregational Church of Buxton, UCC, (Tory Hill Meetinghouse), where she will be remembered for years as the Sunday School and Nursery School teacher. Doree was also a member of the Dorcas Society, where she played the preacher's wife in the “The Old Peabody Pew”, which was written by Kate Douglas Wiggin.
Mrs. Hamilton was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, The Humane Society and the Saco Valley Civic Association.
She enjoyed reading Shakespeare and mystery novels, painting, drawing, camping, family, animals, and watching birds and squirrels.
She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Hamilton, and a grandchild in 1991, Andrea Witham.
Survivors include; son Keith; daughter Kerry, and the apple of her eye, grandson, Nathan Jones
