Friends and family may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral home 365 Main St, Saco from 12 to 1 PM on Wednesday September 30, 2015. A 1:00 PM funeral will follow at the funeral home and burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Obituary:
Saco, Thomas Albert Hickey, 73, of Weymouth St died suddenly September 26, 2015 after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center .He was born in Hartford, CT Dec. 20, 1941 the son of Frank and Elizabeth Roberts Hickey and later raised by his mother and step father Raymond Fredericksen.
Thomas was raised in Manchester, CT and served in the US Army on several bases in the United States and Korea from 1959 till 1962.
He was a career salesman, beginning his work life in stints including Burger Chef, Nassif Arms Sporting Goods, Mammoth Mart and Caldor, before finding his niche at Prudential Insurance Company in Danbury, CT where he retired after 28 ½ years. He served as local union president for several years.
In 1963, Tom met Priscilla Haase, when he asked her to dance at the Oak St. Bar and Grill in Manchester, CT. They married in 1964. Thomas and Priscilla raised their family in Brookfield and Danbury.
Following retirement, Tom and Priscilla divided their time between the coastal cities of Port Richey, FL and Priscilla’s childhood home of Saco, Maine.
Tom was active in the Senate Manor Retirement Community in Port Richey and supported many charities throughout the country which served the underprivileged and underserved. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 79, New Port Richey, FL.

Tom enjoyed rock and roll music and was a great dancer. He
was an avid sports and NASCAR fan, loved to follow baseball, basketball and football and to attend races with his son. He spent many Saturday nights at the Danbury Racearena, Beech Ridge Speedway and Wiscasset Racetrack and missed this weekend’s race at Loudon.
Tom is predeceased by a sister Donna Webster.
Tom is survived by his wife Priscilla and his children, Stephen of New Milford, Ct, Susan McNerney and her husband Robert of Carmel, NY, and Catherine Moran and her husband David of Titusville, FL. Grandchildren Clare, Kristen, Shane and Moira McNerney, and siblings William Fredericksen and his wife Joan of Vernon, CT, Barbara Wilcox and her husband Charles of Alexander, NC, Deane Browne of Ocala, FL, Judith Hinman and her husband John of Canton, CT, Sandra Streit and her husband Steven Graves of Tampa, FL, and Raymond Fredericksen and his wife Taryn of Plainville, CT, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
