DeLaura K. “Momma D or Dinky” Baker, age 57, of Falmouth, Maine, died on April 26, 2023.
She was born in Logansport, Indiana on February 20, 1966, a daughter of Floyd E and Mildred (Riden) Pope.
As a girl, she attended schools in Logansport, Indiana and enjoyed meeting people,
a stranger to none.
DeLaura loved working in the food service industry, attaining a leadership role in all those organizations she so proudly served. Her talents were mentoring and encouraging her team to be their best earning her a favored title as, “Momma D”.
She was an avid Gardner and loved her flower. She loved attending family reunions and holiday gatherings sharing meals, playing card games and making memories. DeLaura was known to be the ‘life of the party’ often making her presence already known to the back of the room upon entering the front. She was fond of her ‘legendary walks’ with close family members and friends. She treasured spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, auntie and friend,
DeLaura’s zest for life was infectious to all those who knew her.
She will be missed and forever cherished.
She is predeceased by her beloved Mother and Father, Mildred & Floyd E Pope
and Brother, Floyd Pope Jr of Logansport, Indiana.
She is survived by her sons, Justin (Crystal) Sommers of Falmouth, Maine; Randall (Jessica) Baker of Logansport, Indiana and James (Kayleigh) Boehme of Walton, Indiana; 2 sisters, Anita Davis of Peru, Indiana; Vanessa (Gary) White of Lafayette, Indiana and brother, William Pope of Logansport, Indiana; 6 grandchildren, Taya, Caleb, Nevaeh, Gracelyn, Grant, and Brentyn with another grandchild expected in August; many nieces and nephews,
to whom some affectionately referred to her as, "the cool Auntie” and a “cool Mom”.
DeLaura passionately and proudly supported the VFW and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your local VFW.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor. Details will be provided at a later date.
