Obituary:
Old Orchard Beach – Mitchell M. Wood, Jr. of Pine Street, passed away on December 12, 2022. He was born August 4, 1952 in Worcester, MA, the son of Mitchell and Grace (Strong) Wood, Sr.
He graduated from with a business degree from St. Francis College in Biddeford. Mitchell loved Maine and settled in Old Orchard Beach. He was the owner and operator of the Aquarius Motel for many years. He loved boating, bowling with his family and was the family’s rock. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Justine Korzep Wood, his son Michael Wood of Sutton, MA, his daughters Jessica Wood of Sutton and Jody Piazza and her husband Corey of Leominster, MA.

An incredible Human Being that my wife; Nannette and I adored. He had a contagious love of life and his family. His respect for others and his keen sense of sincerity, trust and appropriate business performance was impressive.His love of the ocean and his addictive enthusiasm for it’s varied personalities was contagious; even to those of us known to be extreme lovers. He is and his family will always be respected, trusted and adored.

Such a huge tragic loss! Mitch had such a huge outgoing personality!! I can hear his contagious laugh and see that bigger than life smile! I can hear him call me “little Missy”. He is missed so much already! My deepest condolences to his family. I can’t even imagine the pain and heartbreak they are going through with Mitch’s passing. Such a sad loss of such a great friend. RIP Mitch🙏
