Obituary:
Daniel A. Gravel, 61, passed away Tuesday November 8, 2022, at his residence on Hight Road in Dayton. He was born July 10, 1961, in Lewiston, the son of Noel Gravel and Francoise Croteau Gravel. Dan attended and graduated from Lewiston schools. He was a Jack of all trades. Dan enjoyed being creative and always loved using the natural elements in his creativity. His craftsmanship with woodworking was something he took great pride in. Dan’s greatest achievements in this lifetime was his kids and grandchildren. His heart filled with joy, love and pride and a smile on his face every time he spoke of them. Dan enjoyed being in and connecting with nature. You would often find him near water or in the mountains. He was also part of a large community of healers, and drummers… whom he considered family. Best known in this community of healers for his great hugs and foot massages. Dan wanted to share his knowledge and help whomever he encountered. The last few years he had the privilege to volunteer his spare time at a local Wolf Sanctuary (Wolves of Maine Sanctuary). The wolves and wolf hybrids became very near and dear to his heart. Dan is Survived by: His son Derek Cain and wife Stella of Bangor, his daughter Kara McEntee and her husband Adam McEntee of Presque Isle, his son Derek Silsby and his wife Nishely of Auburn Mass, 6 sisters Diane Talon and Linda Murch both from New Sharon, Sally Gravel of Farmington, Elaine Ecker of Lewiston, Gail Carlson and her husband John of Greenwood, SC, Kim Karkos and her husband David Spugnardi of Poland, 7 grandchildren including Elijah (Eli) Cain, 13 nieces and nephews.
