Obituary:
Buxton – Derek Michael Smith 31 passed away on November 1, 2022 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Portland on June 29, 1991, the youngest son of Gordon and Barbara Bonnvie Smith.
Derek graduated from Falmouth High School.
He enjoyed snowboarding, time at the beach, spending time with family and friends, and he loved time spent on his grandfather’s boat called “The Good Life”.
He was predeceased by his father Gordon A. Smith, Jr. and his grandfather William Bonnvie, Sr.
Derek is survived by his mother Barbara Bonnvie, his daughter Olivia McCafferty, brothers Shawn Smith and Jamie Smith and his wife Holly and their son Xavier.
