Obituary:
Sometimes there is no reason why. Sometimes when the unimaginable happens we feel
powerless in its wake, and that's when the love surrounding us becomes the lifeboat that
carries us through.
Kennebunk: Randy Thomas Bickford, age 40 left this world and those who loved him
dearly on July 30, 2022. Randy was a son, father, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and
a friend to many. A true Mainer through and through, Randy was born, the son of Jess
Bickford and Jeanne Flaherty Sevigny, in Sanford, Maine during the spring blizzard of
April 5 th , 1982. As a result, he and his mom enjoyed an extended stay at the Goodall
Hospital while for the next three days road crews struggled to reopen Southern Maine.
Randy graduated from Kennebunk High School with the class of 2000. He was an
excellent athlete and loved the game of baseball. Might we add, he was their star
pitcher. Randy loved his children, his family, chilling with friends, music, fishing,
hunting, and cooking. Randy was so proud of his beautiful daughter Lily and his
handsome son Wesley and loved them dearly. From the time he could legally work as a
teenager he was always the hard worker. Of all, he was most proud of working for UPS
and was so excited to be driving his own delivery routes. Randy wore his heart on his
sleeve and felt life's ups and downs deeply. He fought a decades long battle with his
demons that eventually took hold of his life and robbed him of everything he hoped and
dreamed of for a proud future. Despite the battle, Randy remained the kind and gentle
soul he had always been. While his death was unexpected and tragic, those he left
behind remember him with love, and find comfort in knowing he is not hurting anymore.
Randy is survived by his father Jess Bickford, his mother Jeanne Flaherty Sevigny, and
her husband Mark. His sister Karli Bickford, her son Myles Sylvain and David Sylvain.
His daughter Lily Bickford and her mother Shiloh Legere. His son Wesley Moody
Bickford and his mother Tasha Moody. His grandparents, Allen Bickford, Mary
Bickford, and Caroline Flaherty. His high school sweetheart and life partner Jessica
Leach. Randy is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was
predeceased by his grandfather Thomas Flaherty.
