Obituary:
Standish – James Francis Smith 74 of Bliss Lane, passed away on February 15, 2022 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
He was born on February 19, 1947, in Plainfield, CT, the son of Joseph and Dorothy Sadaway Smith. He graduated from All Hallows Catholic High School in Plainfield, CT then enlisted in Air Force. He served our country for 7 years and worked as a Medic and was promoted to Sargeant.
Jim enjoyed fishing, playing cards, chess, Scrabble and loved listening to music.
He was predeceased by his son Philip Smith, a grandson Jesse Cardone and a great-grandson Connor Smith.
James is survived by a son Andrew Smith of Oxford, a daughter Edith Smith of Hollis, brothers Dennis Smith and his wife Cecile of Putnam, CT and Greg Smith and his wife Theresa of Plainfield, CT, sisters Kathy Manning and her husband Bruce of Moosup, CT, Nancy Emmi and her husband Duane of Brooklyn, CT and Lorraine Mikutel and her husband Gary of Glens Falls, NY, and 2 grandchildren Rachel Smith and Nicholas Smith.
