Obituary:
Leslie passed away peacefully with her children by her side in the early morning hours of December 27, 2021. She was born in Portland, attended Catholic schools, and lived in Maine for most of her life. As a teenager Leslie spent summers in New York with her older sister Judy where she eventually met her former husband. Their daughter, Kristine Marie (Jarrett) DeMerritt was born in New York in January 1969, and son Lewis Franklin Jarrett, IV was born the following year in Arizona. She returned to Maine in the early 1970’s and met her longtime, adoring partner of thirty-eight years, James “Jimmy” Nason.
Leslie had a big heart, affectionately known as “Ma” to her children, and “Nanny” to her grandchildren; she was an amazing cook, and had a natural talent for making any space feel like home.
Leslie is predeceased by her parents, Marjorie (McGarr) Walsh and Tucker Walsh; and her brother James Ireland. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sisters Judith (Ireland) Pasquali, Katie (Walsh) Guzman, and brother Seamus Walsh; children Kristine and Lewis; step-daughter Darcy Cucchiara; grand-children Nickole (DeMerritt) Wesley, Daniel DeMerritt, Allison Fogg, Chantelle Jarrett, Carlyanne Jarrett, Nathaniel Dennison, and Isabella Dennison; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
