Obituary:
Mark J. Panico was born on May 25, 1957 while his family was stationed in Morocco, Africa. He died on May 2, 2021 from heart complications. He was raised in Madison, Wisconsin and later moved to Maine after spending childhood summers in the Northeast. Mark loved speaking fondly of his two kids, Samuel and Miranda. During their sporting events and throughout his life, he was their loudest cheerleader on the sidelines. He was very proud of their accomplishments, and in their adulthood, he was always eager to grab a bite to eat and catch up.
One of Mark’s passions was photography. He had a unique eye for capturing the natural beauty of Maine and enjoyed taking photos and videos of friends and family. He was often playfully teased about how he was always behind the camera to ensure no special moment went undocumented; however, we are now so appreciative for his photographic legacy. Dad, thank you for giving us a lifetime of visual memories.
Mark was predeceased by his brother Fred Panico Jr. in 2019. He will be greatly missed by his partner France Savage, his son and daughter, Samuel and Miranda Panico, ex-wife, Bonnie Cloukey, sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Jim, nephew and niece, Dan and Katie, his Boston family, and his friends in Wisconsin and Maine.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 30th at Wassamki Springs Campground from 1pm to 4pm. We welcome you to join us for food and drink and to raise a glass to Mark. The address is 56 Saco Street, Scarborough, ME 04074 (207-839-4276). This venue was chosen because of all the memories Mark and his family made here over many summers.
