Obituary:
As his family gathered, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, James Lamontagne, left us on Friday, May 10, 2019. Born in Biddeford, Maine on June 20, 1933 he was the son of Marian (Carroll) Lamontagne and Francis Lamontagne. He grew up in Saco, Maine graduating from Thornton Academy in 1951 where he was a gifted athlete and vice president of his class. Jim served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and attended multiple aircraft engine schools. Following his discharge, Jim was employed in the Experimental Test Department of Pratt and Whitney for over 45 years, advancing to department foreman. Forever exhibiting a very strong work ethic, Jim also served as a part-time police officer in Glastonbury from 1961-1974. He married Joyce (Coburn) Lamontagne in 1956 and together they parented three children; Karen Kernan O'Brien, Lori Cerone (Pietro) and David Lamontagne (Michelle) all of South Windsor. Jim was a completely selfless man living to serve his family in whatever the need. He was richly blessed with seven grandchildren; Kyle Kernan, Alexander Cerone (Aja), Brett Kernan, Breanna Baker (Brandon), Nicholas Lamontagne (Mia), Selina Lamontagne and Mikala O'Brien.
