Obituary:
Nancy Fairfield Rumery, 93 of Granite Point passed away peacefully at Seal Rock Health Care on October 10, 2018. She was born June 3, 1925 in Saco, the daughter of Wilber and Mary Smart Fairfield. She was educated in Saco Schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1943.
Nancy was an employee of Saco and Biddeford Savings Institute, retiring after 63 years of service and was still an Honorary Corporator of the Bank. She was also an active member of the community. She served in several banking organizations over the years, she was a volunteer at Southern Maine Medical Center, a member of Altrusa and was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge (IOOF). In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing, reading, collecting elephants and the tranquility of the beach.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Reed Rumery in 2013 a brother Dr. Roy Fairfield in January and a sister Priscilla Knight in 2007.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Boivin and her husband Andy of Biddeford and Joyce Owczarski of Destin, Florida, a sister-in-law Maryllyn Fairfield of Mansfield Center, CT, 3 grandchildren Christopher, Jennifer and Stefanie, and 3 great grandchildren Kaia, Ava and Sophia.
