Saco - Gladys M. Adler, 95 of Cherryfield Ave. passed away September 21, 2018 at the Seal Rock Healthcare facility in Saco.
She was born in Coaticook, Quebec September 2, 1923 the daughter of Frank and Lillian Houle Johnson.
She graduated from Deering High School and later attended the University of Maine in Orono.
During World War II, she welded Liberty ships at the South Portland shipyard while her husband Joseph flew European missions as a navigator/bombardier in the US Air Force.
She was a homemaker in Auburn for many years and a resident of Saco for over 30 years.
Gladys enjoyed time with her family, playing bridge, traveling, reading and talking with friends.
She was a member of the First Parish Congregational Church of Saco UCC.
She is predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1992 and a daughter Doreen in 2012.
Survivors include a daughter Joanne Clemons of Hermon, ME, 2 sons Thomas Adler of Norwich, VT and Jeffrey Adler of Bedford, NH, and a sister Doris Keniston of Scarborough; 9 grandchildren, Parke, Brett, Keara, Daphne, Blythe, Fiona, Dorian, Mark and Erika; and 7 great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Adrian, Clara, Chloe, Mackenzie, Juliet and Vivian.
