Obituary:
Frances Tucker was peacefully Promoted to Glory from her home in Old Orchard Beach on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
Frances was born to John and Blanche Cromp on January 9, 1924 in Buffalo,
NY and blossomed as a dedicated servant to God through The Salvation Army.
Frances entered the School for Officer Training in 1944, and was commissioned on June 18, 1945. While in Training she was corresponding with young Captain Howard Daniels, and on April 2, 1946 the sweethearts were married. They began their life of shared ministry as Commanding Officers in Towanda, PA. The ensuing years saw appointments in the Northern New England and Southern New England Divisions, Greater New York Division, the School for Officers Training, Markle Residence, Women’s Lodge, Anthony Residence, Williams Residence and THQ. Major and Mrs. Daniels retired in 1987 from their last appointment from Booth Memorial Medical Center, and happily settled in Old Orchard Beach, ME. Through their 42 years of marriage, Frances was a devoted wife and loving mother, always giving great attention to the work of the Lord and cultivating a godly home for her family. Sadly, after one year into their retirement, Major Howard Daniels was Promoted to Glory.
In September of 1994, God brought a wonderful love into Fran’s life, Major William Tucker (whose wife, Mrs. Major Vera Tucker, had been Promoted to Glory in 1993). The happy couple married on September 24, 1994, and for the next 20 years enjoyed the beauty of Maine, the richness of the Old Orchard Beach fellowship, and the company of each other. In 2014, Fran’s dear husband, Major William Tucker, was Promoted to Glory.
Survivors include a son, Frederick Daniels of Red Bank, NJ and her brother Richard.
