Obituary:
It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Colpritt Jr. (59) announces his passing as of Friday evening April 27th. He was found by his fiancé, Karen Caton, peaceful from sleep in the comforts of his home in Buxton.
As someone with deep regrets, Daniel became a man of the moment. He did not dwell on what could not be changed nor did he plan ahead to a future of uncertainties. That is, until he met the women that changed it all. It was within her presence that he became a being of happiness and hope. His love and care for the immediate people in his life radiated for the world to see.
Daniel (Aka the Streaker) was a person of simple interests. This made it easy for him to give his affection and generosity to those closest to him. He was funny and gave good laughs to anyone he came in contact with, even if it was at his own expense. He saw the little things in people and appreciated them to the fullest.
One of his greatest hobbies in life was figuring out ways to fix and improve things, even if they weren’t broken. It was the MacGyver in him that always wanted to help and saw a purpose for everything. He enjoyed watching movies regardless of whether they were in English or not (he got their Jist). He loved his electronics even though he didn’t know how to work them half the time. He was playful and was always willing to try new things. Danny was someone that you could trust with your heart, just not your pepperoni.
These words written could never do a man such as himself justice. Though it is a pleasure to have insight into who he was, the real honor was being one of the people that was able have the full Daniel Colpritt experience.
We wish you safe travels, Danny, on your journey to your stairway to heaven that is resting high up on that mountain. May you always be held in the hearts of the people you touched and remember to you are returning to the arms of your angel, your mother.
Survivors include his fiancé Karen Caton of Buxton, 2 son Daniel Colpritt III and Christopher Spencer, both of Bangor, a daughter Judy Spencer of Bangor, 3 brothers William Hubbard and Timothy Hubbard, both of Buxton, and Howard Liberty of Limington, 4 sister Dorothy Simmer of Newfork, Virginia, Darlene Grant of Biddeford, Shelly Tanner of Lynnville, Vt and Patricia Lee of Providence, RI, 4 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
