A memorial service will be held in Maine on Saturday, October 31, 2015, and a second memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced in Houghton.
At that time, her ashes will be spread on the farm in the Houghton area that she and Paul enjoyed living on for many years.
Obituary:
DAYTON, Maine – Audrey Frair, after 92 years of living a full life, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Dayton, Maine on October 26, 2015.
Audrey was born on February 12, 1923 in Elgin, Illinois, to Hertha and Fred Berlin, who immigrated to the United States from Germany.
She married Paul Frair, whom she met while attending Park College in Parkville, Missouri. While her new husband served in the army during World War II, Audrey continued her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in music.
Audrey and Paul were married for 70 years, she raised four children and loved to spoil her four grandchildren.
Audrey and Paul moved to Houghton in 1947 and she began teaching violin and piano to students and continued to teach music for the next 50 years.
Audrey was an accomplished and talented musician, playing her violin with various groups all over the world. She was a generous and dedicated community member contributing her time and talents to local theater, her church, and many other community endeavors too numerous to list here.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Paul Frair; their daughters, Kim Frair, Heidi Bresnahan and Peggy Olson; and their son, Charles Frair.
