Visitation Information:
There will be a visiting hour on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon officiated by Rev. Beverly Lowell of United Baptist Church at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco, ME. A reception will be held at the United Baptist Church Vestry, 318 Main Street, Saco followed by the committal of both Walter and Gladys at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 293 Beach Street, Saco, ME.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's memory to Alzheimer's Association Maine Chapter, 383 US Route 1, Scarborough ME 04074.

Obituary:
Saco - Walter (Bud) Johnson, Jr. 96 passed away on January 20, 2018, in Saco, Maine. He was born on February 9,1921, in Boston, MA, to Walter A. Johnson, Sr. and Martha Leve Johnson. Walter attended Jamaica Plains schools and Jamaica Plains High School in Jamaica Plains, MA.
Walter (Bud) was a member of the United Baptist Church in Saco and served as a Deacon and Trustee for many years. Walter was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Saco for over 50 years.
He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 30 years. While there he received honorary submariner awards having participated in several descends. Bud was also a member of the American Legion in Saco.
He was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Gladys Brown Johnson, on January 3, 2016. Bud and Gladys spent many years on Kennebunk Pond at their camp, before moving to Punta Gorda, FL, where they lived for 14 years, before moving back to Saco to be closer to family. He had many good times showing his grandchildren how to fish and camp out.
Bud was predeceased by both his parents, a son William Johnson in 1985. He was also predeceased by 3 grandchildren: infant Doria Johnson, Kimberly and Keith Kline; and a sister Cynthia Earle.
He is survived by his daughters Joan J. Hurrell and her husband Robert, and Debra Sena and her husband Frank, who all reside in Saco. Also, a daughter-in-law, Doria Johnson of Colchester, CT. He is the proud grandfather of Teddy Milne, Jr., of Wisconsin, Catherine Nichols and Timothy Milne and Todd Milne all of Saco, Kari Coyne of Kennebunk, Brian Hurrell, of Colorado, Alison Kline of Saco, Amy Moscoti of New York and Benjamin Johnson of Colorado. Bud is the great-grandfather of 19 great-children and 9 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Walter's family would like to thank the folks at The Landing at Saco Bay (formally the Monarch Center) for all their loving care for our Dad.
