A memorial service will be held on March 24, 2018 at 11:00am at the First Parish Congregational Church of Saco UCC, 12 Beach Street, Saco, ME with the Rev. Deborah Breault officiating. Burial will be next to his wife Ann at Beaverdale Cemetery in Hamden, CT. Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation 365 Main Street, Saco, ME is in charge of the arrangements.

Obituary:
Saco, ME - Dr. Frank Horton, 93, passed away Sunday January 7, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, ME. He was born in Montreal, Canada April 25,1924 and came to the United States at a young age. As a child he attended schools in Providence, RI, and then lived in Paisley, Scotland for three years, returning to the United States to attend Moses Brown School, Brown University and Yale Medical School.
Recalled to the US Navy, he served for two years as a pediatrician caring for military families moving to the U.S. from Germany and Japan. After his service to his country, he had a practice in Manchester, CT, for 35 years until his retirement.
In retirement, he moved to Maine and worked as Safety Officer for Horton Smoked Seafoods in Waterboro.
Frank was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed beekeeping, blacksmithing, and his gardens.
Dr. Horton was a member of First Parish Congregational Church of Saco, UCC.
He is predeceased by his wife Ann Horton and a sister Sheila Kennedy.
Survivors include his brother Donald Horton and his wife Jean A. of Saco, ME, two sons Robert Hamilton Horton of Manchester, CT and Richard Hofmann Horton of Portland, OR, a daughter Jill Horton-Lyons of Colrain, MA, and three grandchildren Megan, Christopher and Michael.
