Obituary:
Biddeford – Violet Annie Gobeil, 96 passed away peacefully at Biddeford Estates on Sunday morning, August 13, 2017. She was born in Biddeford on March 11, 1921, the last surviving child of William and Sarah Taylor Metcalf.
Violet attended Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford Hight School. She worked many jobs in the manufacturing industry over the years, retiring as a candy clerk from Yummy’s and Haven’s Candies.
Violet enjoyed needlework and cross stitching, knitting, reading and was an avid crossword solver.
Violet was predeceased by her husband Richard and her 2 sons Richard and William.
She is survived 2 daughters Diane Guay and Shirley Janelle, a daughter-in-laws Rita Gobeil and Beverly Gobeil, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
