Obituary:
BAR MILLS- Maud Parker Smith, age 102, passed away on May 1, 2012 at Springbrook Nursing Home in Westbrook. She was born in Buxton on December 23, 1909, the daughter of Ernest and Lizzie Parker. Maud was the wife of the late Ellsworth Smith and lived all their married life on Fountain St. in Bar Mills. Maud was a member of the Baptist Church and also attended Tory Hill Church. She graduated from Buxton High School and attended St. Barnabus School of Nursing. She retired from Saco Defense. She always busied herself cooking, sewing, knitting and braiding rugs. She golfed in her 70s and 80s and won many medals as the oldest person in the Volks Sport walks. She was predeceased by brother Erland, sisters Leonora, Nellie and Ernestine. Surviving is a sister Velma Harvey, a daughter, Nancy Burt and husband Kenneth of Dunstable, MA; two sons Robert and wife Patricia of Brunswick; Richard and Blanche of Standish; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.



A graveside service is planned for family and friends at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 19th at the Tory Hill (South Buxton) Cemetery.
