Friends and relatives may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home 365 Main St, Saco Friday from 10 to 11am. A 11 am funeral Service will immediately at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Laurel Hill Cemetery on the Morrill Lot.
Obituary:
Sophie Buckovitch Morrill, after a ten year battle finally succumbed on April 11,2017 at the Caleo Bay Alzheimers Special Care Center in LaQuinta,California. Sophie was born on November 28th, 1934 in Berlin, New Hampshire the youngest of eight children. She attended local schools and was a 1952 graduate of Berlin High School wher she was , among many endeavors, captain of the girls basketball team. Sophie then went on to work her way thru the University of New Hampshire, culminating in a B.S. degree in physical education in 1956. Sophie was an accomplished pianist and attended the Hartford School of Music. Sophie loved golf and bridge, was a gourmet cook, but most of all loved being a devoted wife and mother. She was a long time member and frequent attendee to the Russian Orthodox Church in San Anselmo, Ca.
Left behind to cherish her memory is Gerald, her husband of 60 years. She is survived by a brother Paul of New Britain, Ct and sisters Tanya Chapin of Berthoud Colorado and Eve Silva of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by sons Arthur of Rayville, Mo.; Dwight of Sonoma, Ca.; Douglas of Novato, Ca.; a daughter Lynne Potts of Sierraville, Ca. and nine grandchildren.
