Obituary:
Allan Brockman, age 78, of Buxton, ME died Feb. 17, 2017. He was born in Boston, MA on Jan. 1, 1939, son of George and Fanny (Wilenski) Brockman. He graduated from Boston Latin School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Following graduation, he began work at Pathé Laboratories, and then the Pennsylvania Railroad. He moved to Iran with a job at the Iranian Oil Consortium. While there, he met his wife Beatrice Shaw Brockman. When they returned to America, he started a 25-year career as the Director of Business Services for the Windsor (CT) Public School System. As Director, he made many cost-saving and technological innovations, of which he was justifiably proud. He retired to Maine in 2008. He was an avid woodworker, a gardener under Bea's direction, and a fierce haggler who enjoyed yard sales. He enjoyed finding great food at little-known restaurants, and was a passionate Patriots’ fan. He was married to the love of his life for 47 years. He is survived by wife, Beatrice Brockman; daughter Caroline Lee and husband Robert and children, Patrick (11), Caitlin (9), Meghan (5); son James Brockman and wife Sonya and twins Robert and Michael (5); daughter Elizabeth Womble and husband Dale; and his beloved dog MacDuff. He was a loving husband and father and a proud grandfather.
