Visitation Information:
Visitation (casual attire) will be held at Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 13 Portland Rd, in Bar Mills, Maine on Friday February 17, 2017 from 12-2pm and 5-8pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 178 Elm St in Biddeford, ME at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 18, 2017.
A celebration of life will follow the funeral Mass at Rick’s parent’s home at 16 McKenney Road in Saco, ME. A spring burial will take place at South Buxton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Saco food pantry, PO Box 246 Saco, Maine or a food pantry of your choice.

Obituary:
It is with great sadness that that the family of Richard Marc Grant announces his unexpected passing at his farm on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the age of 57.

Rick will be lovingly remembered by his wife and fellow farmer Stacy (Tyo) and his children Trena Soucy (Adam) of Portage Lake, ME, Julie Grant Hagerman of Standish,ME, Benjamin Grant (Vanessa) of Saco,ME, stepchildren Brittni Heiligman (Matthew) of Brownville, NY, Shane MG Doney of Watertown, NY, Benjamin Bartlett of Saco, ME and Luke Bartlett of Saco, ME. His grandchildren Nevaeh and Richard and step grandchildren Cameron and Zolin. His sister Lisa Wilkinson of Saco, ME and her partner Rick Farnum and his sister Laurie Grant of Portland, ME and her husband Gil Doughty. His Mother Claire Grant, of Saco, ME and Davenport, FL and her husband Paul, and several nieces and nephews. Rick was predeceased by his father Benjamin Richard Albert Grant in 1983. Rick was greatly anticipating the birth of one grandchild and one step grandchild later in 2017.
Rick was born 0n March 20, 1959 in Saco, Maine to Claire Beaudoin Grant and Benjamin Richard Albert Grant. He was a 1977 graduate of Thornton Academy and attended SMCC. He is a member at Good Shepherd Parish, Saco, ME. Rick was employed at Cohen Egg and Wood Structures of Maine before he purchased his ancestral farm in 1984.
Rick had an articulate passion for; farming, family, snowmobiling, motorcycles, craft beer, dancing and so much more. His zest for life was noticed by many. He was known throughout as The Corn King and The Bean Baron of Maine as he successfully planted and harvested over 100 acres of vegetables every season for the local community as well as for the Hannaford Super Markets, Native Maine Produce, Pennrose Farms and others. Rick was a supporter of; local race car diving, the Saco Bay Path Finders Snowmobile Club, The Portage Lake Snowmobile Club as well as other local organizations. Many will remember Rick for hosting The Weekend Behind The Barn Motorcycle Rally throughout the 1990’s. Rick’s family and close friends will remember him for his impeccable work ethic, kind heart, generous ways and his full-faced twinkly eyed smiles.

The Grant Family have been a family we have known for a number of years and a lot of great memories that I have had with Rick from farming and snowmobiling and also with remote control cars that we created our selves ! And the whole family is a caring family! And I am Gonna miss him greatly! RIP
