Friends may call from 6 – 8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 8th.
Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport.

NEWPORT & BIDDEFORD – Carter Dean Townsend, 68, died January 31, 2017.
He was born February 5, 1948, in Lowell, MA, a son of Arthur and Hilda (Gustin) Townsend. He had been employed at several temporary employment agencies. He enjoyed playing the piano whenever and wherever he could including churches, nursing homes, and food pantries.
Carter is survived by 3 daughters, Cynthia and husband Dennis Michaud, Loriann Lawler, Davina and husband Amadeus Klein; a brother, Ronald Stonis; 2 sisters, Davina Jasneski and Patricia Mahoney; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister Ann Aversano.
