Old Orchard Beach – John Edward Desmond, 68 passed away at his home on Cottage Avenue on December 3, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on May 27, 1948 in Portland, the son of William and Anna Kroll Desmond and the step son of Harold Randall.
John attended schools in Scarborough and Old Orchard Beach. He lived with his wife Iona in Lyman for 14 years before settling in the Old Orchard Beach area. John was employed as a landscaper and a jack of all trades. He loved woodworking and was an avid BINGO enthusiast.
He was predeceased by his sister Marcia Boyne, and brothers William Desmond, Paul Desmond and Gerald Desmond.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Iona Tate Desmond, brothers Donald Desmond, Ralph Desmond and Dennis Desmond, sister Anna Lanoie and many nieces and nephews.
