Obituary:
Buxton, Sandra L. Brandenstein, 76 of Libby Dr passed away September 23, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born in Milo, Maine September 21, 1940 the daughter of Curtis and Una Yeaton Speed.
She was raised and later graduated from schools in Islesboro.
She moved to the Portland area, where she later met and married her husband Robert.
With her husband Robert serving in the United States Coast Guard, she, her husband lived in Maine, California, Alaska, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Texas and to his final posting in Portland, Maine. They moved permanently to Buxton in1984.
Sandra was active in the community. She was a member of the Saco Valley Civic Association, Chairman of the Buxton Republican Committee, and President of the Pine Crafters Camping Club.
Sandra enjoyed her motor home. She and her husband did 3 cross country trips, including trips to Mardi Gras, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and Mt, Rushmore.
Her special love was for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Brandenstein of Buxton, a son Guy William Brandenstein of Winthrop, MA, a brother David Speed, 2 grandchildren, Halei Martel and Taylor Brandenstein and 3 great grandchildren, Harmony, Aalyiah and Hazel.
She is predeceased by a daughter Hope Lee Brandenstein.
