Visitation Information:
Visiting hours are to be held Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Saco and Biddeford, 60 School St. A 1:30PM memorial service will immediately follow at the church. Rev. David Chandler will officiate.
Private family burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery were held prior to the service.

Obituary:
Saco, Evelyn Davis Emerson, 90, passed away Monday March 19, 2012 at the Wardwell Home with her family with her. She was born in Biddeford, one of nine children, February 16, 1922 the daughter of Joseph and Marion Goodwin Davis.
She was educated in the Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1940.
On September 22, 1942 she married Delmont Emerson in Biddeford Maine. They lived in Jacksonville, FL, Memphis, Tenn. and Laguna Beach, CA. while Delmont served in the US Navy.
She spent many years as mother and homemaker to her two children. She participated in the PTA, Band booster and other organizations.
After working several part time jobs while her children were growing up, she then went to work for the Maine Youth Center in 1970. She retired from there in 1990.
Active in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Saco and Biddeford, she was instrumental in forming the Sigma Delta Women’s Group. The group was active for over 50 years.
Her home was always open to neighborhood children, family and friends. Many generations of kids stopped after school for a snack. She was also the one to call if help was needed. She would not only lend a hand but was the take charge person who would arrange events.
For over 40 years she was affectionately known as “Mimi” by her grandchildren and their friends.
She is predeceased by her husband and a son Alan in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter Margaret “Peggy”Bean and her husband Ralph of Biddeford,4 grandchildren Barbara Fortier, Cathy Patnaude and her husband Rick, Allison Bean, and Ashley Alston and her husband De”Angelo and 4 great grandchildren Eric and Victoria Patnaude, De’Angelo and De’Shaun Alston a sister Natalie Marro of Wells and many nephews and nieces

I am saddened to hear of Evelyn's passing. I have some very fond memories of our conversations while carpooling to and from work at the MYC. My condolences to her family.
