Obituary:
Old Orchard Beach - Connie Payton Neal, 63 passed away at her home on June 20, 2016 with her husband by her side. Connie’s favorite pastime was walking the beach, humming her favorite song, "White Bird" , watching the birds, the majestic lighthouses, and the sea. On the last morning of spring, she joined the White Bird, circling the lighthouse one last time, and she let the breeze carry her to the heavens to begin the first day of her eternal endless summer.
Connie, a long-time resident of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, was born in Indianapolis on September 19, 1952. Connie was a 1971 graduate of Decatur Central High School located in Indianapolis and a graduate of the prestigious Indiana University School of Business - B.S. in Business Administration. Connie was an active member of the Alpha Phi Sorority in Bloomington IN. Connie retired after a successful career in business working for a variety of fortune 500 companies.
Connie treasured the time she spent with her husband and best friend Greg, and her beloved dog Pookie. Despite the distance after moving from Indiana to Maine, she was close to her brother Jim and his wife Bonnie, and adored her nieces Alyson (Buell) and Alaine (Smeltzer). She has two twin grand-nephews: Landon and Conner Buell.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Stella Payton of Camby, IN.
Connie's smile and grace will live forever in everyone who ever knew her.
