Obituary:
Saco - Frances Marie Nasse, 90, of Saco, died peacefully at her residence with her loving daughter by her side on June 10, 2016.
She was born in Monticello, Georgia on September 27, 1925, the daughter of Dennis and Marie Whitten Maddox of Granite Hill, Georgia.
She attended and graduated from Sparta High School. Attended and received an associates degree from Southern Business University in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduating from SBU, she took a Civil Service test and began working in Atlanta for the U.S. Government as a secretary. From Atlanta, she worked at Robbins Field in Macon, Georgia for a short while and from there she transferred to the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. Several years later and after World War II, she worked at the U.S. Commerce Department in Washington, D.C.
While working at the Pentagon, she met and married Charles Nicholas Nasse, a Marine stationed at Quantico Marine Base, Quantico, Virginia. They later moved to Southbridge, Massachusetts. In Southbridge, she was employed at the Edwards Department Store as office manager and later Hyde Manufacturing Company as a secretary. Her husband's work took him to Woodbridge, Virginia and in 1978, she retired from Hyde Manufacturing and moved there to be with her husband. There she began working for AFCO Corporation as secretary/bookkeeper until 1985. Due to her husband's illness, they retired and built their retirement home in Saco. Her husband passed away in 1988. In 1990, she volunteered at Dyer Library and shortly after began working and worked there until 2002 and kept volunteering from then on.
She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, playing games and most of all she loved her family and the family of her husband.
She was member of the Bible Baptist Church and active in church activities and a deaconess for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Dennis and Marie Maddox, two brothers, Morgan and D. H. Maddox, her husband, Charles Nasse Sr. and her son, Charles Nasse, Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Marie and her husband, Larry Brown of San Francisco, CA, a daughter-in-law, Linda Sue Nasse and two grandsons, Jason Nasse, his wife Katy and their children Jeffrey, Hope, and Henry Charles and Ryan Nasse, his wife Janet and their children Sophie and George, all of Kansas, a goddaughter, Mary Baker of Massachusetts, three nephews, Robert Maddox, Michael Maddox, and Mitchell Maddox, all of Georgia, two nieces, Allene Jones and Glenda Knowles of Georgia and many loving nieces and nephews of Saco, Maine, Massachusetts and California.
