Visitation Information:
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, from 5-7 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd) in Buxton (Bar Mills). During the visiting hours at 6:45 PM, a Masonic funeral service will be performed by members of Buxton Masonic Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill Road, Hollis with Pastor Brian Blair officiating. Burial with US Army honors will be in the spring at South Buxton Cemetery

Obituary:
HOLLIS- Douglas Ralph Bradbury, age 85, passed away on Feb. 17, 2012 at Southridge Living and Rehab. Center in Biddeford.

He was born on May 29, 1926, a son of the late Ivory Sr. and Ethel (Knight) Bradbury.

He attended local schools and joined the US Army in Aug. 1944 during World War II. He served his country in the European Theatre for six months as a rifleman and saw action at the Battle of the Bulge and in Germany.

He joined the Hutchinson-Boulter Post of the American Legion in 1945 and was a Past Commander. He was a member of the Lions Club and the local snowmobile club. He has been a member of Buxton Masonic Lodge #115 AF&AM for over 40 years and a member of the Hollis Fire Dept. for 60+ years. He fought fires during the 1947 forest fires.

He worked for the former S.D. Warren Paper Co. for 39.8 years, retiring in June of 1987.

After retiring he and his wife spent 17 years in Florida and did much traveling in such places as Germany, Hawaii, Canada, and most of the states.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years- Alice Bradbury; three sons- Neil D. Bradbury and his wife Linda, Dwight Bradbury and his wife Karen, Dennis Bradbury and his wife Tanya; grandchildren- Heather Rideout and her husband Dan, Shawn Bradbury and his wife Carrie, Amanda Paquette and her husband Jeff, Sarah & Jessica Bradbury, Erin Wakefield and her husband Matt, Ken Gooch, Lisa Romanauski, Nathan, Jon and Megan Towns; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law- Beatrice Burnell and Barbara Bradbury; brother-in-law- Paul MacDonald; and his beloved dog- Bell.
