Obituary:
Biddeford Pool - John Harrington Barnum passed away on August 5, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in Ilion, New York on September 14, 1944 the son Leon and Lucille Stitt Barnum.
He worked for many years at United X-ray and St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY as the X-ray Service Engineer. John was passionate about rowing. He began as a coxswain at Syracuse University and continued his lifetime involvement at the Master's level, coaching, and volunteering for learn-to-row programs. John loved to volunteer and urged all to share their passion for their favorite hobby or skill. He also loved to share a hot fudge sundae with someone special ... please don't forget the nuts and a cherry on top!
John was predeceased by his brother Michael J. Barnum.
He is survived by his wife Bernadette (Bunny) Barnum; his son Kevin Barnum of New York, NY; two daughters Catherine (Katie) Barnum, Buffalo, NY and Suzanne Barnum of Loris, SC; his brother William Ringwood of Albany, NY; his two sisters Cynthia Schrader of Little Falls, NY and Elizabeth Labunski of Stillwater, NY.
