A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 23 at 2 PM at 714 Alfred Road #33, Arundel. Burial will be at a later date at South Buxton(Tory Hill) Cemetery in Bar Mills. Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 13 Portland Road, Buxton are in charge of the arrangements.
Obituary:
Irene A. Day, 93, of Plains Rd, Hollis passed away on May 4, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care after a brief illness. She was born in Portland on December 24, 1921 .
Irene graduated from Limerick High School and worked as a housekeeper for many years at the New Life Centers.
She loved her cockatiel bird named Louie. Irene was an avid reader, loved to watch football especially the Patriots. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Olney L. Day.
She is survived by her son Dana Day of California; her daughter Linda Day of Arundel; her grandchildren Melissa Gorence and Jessica Day and great grandchildren.

Irene was like a 2nd Mom to me. I grew up down the street on the Plains Rd in Hollis. I had no idea that she had passed. Would like to contact her son & daughter if possible. She will be missed, but I have a lot of memories of her family.
