Obituary:
Wayne Arthur Hyde, 52, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. Wayne was born in Salem, Massachusetts on May 3, 1962, the only son of Arthur E. and Bonnie Allen Hyde.
Wayne graduated from Danvers High School, Massachusetts in 1980. He graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts with Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies in 1987 and Master’s Degree in Education in 1999.
Wayne worked in newspaper circulation management for the Boston Globe before returning to school for his Masters in Education. He worked as an elementary school teacher in Andover, MA, transferring to the Lawrence Massachusetts Public Schools to teach in elementary and middle schools. After moving to Maine in 2000, he started Hydeaway Homes, a home rehabilitation and new construction company serving southern Maine. Most recently, he was self employed, rehabilitating apartment buildings he owned in Saco.
Wayne attended Grace Point Church in Biddeford.
Wayne’s greatest love was for his family and friends. He had a gift for hospitality, offering his home as a second home to countless friends. Many of his children’s friends consider Wayne their adopted Dad. He loved old Chevy's, old homes and shopping at the ReStore or on Craigslist for bargains; he enjoyed the socialization around these transactions as much as the bargains! Wayne loved to take his 19' Chris Craft on the Saco River, Casco Bay, Sheepscot and Sebago Lakes with his kids and their friends in tow on a tube.
Wayne is survived by his wife Marcia, his 4 sons Peter, Nathan, Christopher and Matthew, and 2 daughters Natalie and Mary, of Saco and his father Arthur Hyde of Florida.

It is with great sadness to hear of Wayne's passing, but the sadness is only a reflection of the joy in having shared a major part of my life with him. I have know Wayne since his high school days and I watched him grow in God and in spirit. I know how central family was to Wayne and my heart goes out to Marcia, his sons and his daughters. He was beloved by so many. May his love for you keep you and hold you.
