Obituary:
Helen B. Doescher passed away on March 3, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born on October 19, 1921 in Clifton, New Jersey, the daughter of Andrew and Julia Simcsak Bobby.
After attending high school in Clifton, NJ, Helen attended Cosmetology School prior to beginning her career with the Bendex Corporation. On April 26th, 1947, she married the love of her life, Curt Doescher. In 1955, her daughter Susan was born and brought so much joy to their lives. Helen returned to work for the Clifton School System serving as their Payroll Supervisor.
Helen and Curt enjoyed spending time at their summer home on Highland Lakes in New Jersey. Upon their retirement in 1988, Helen and Curt moved to Hollis, Maine to be closer to their daughter and their three grandchildren. They spent many years travelling the Northeast in their Winnebago making several trips with their grandchildren, as well as with "The Smart Yankees".
For the past 15 years, Helen has enjoyed quilting and volunteering extensively at the Gorham House Preschool and Hollis Elementary School. Helen was blessed to have a long life which allowed her to see all three of her grandchildren marry. She especially enjoyed spending time with her three young great-grandchildren.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Curt Conrad Doescher; her brother John Bobby; and sisters Mary Bobby Melrose and Anne Bobby Hamelberg.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Doescher Brooks and her husband Ward Hand; her brother Andrew Bobby and his wife Mary Lou Bobby; grandchildren Emily Brooks Semenchuk and her husband Trevor Semenchuk, Ben Brooks and wife Shelly Brooks, and Anne Elizabeth Adams and her husband Garrett Adams; and great grandchildren Juliet Susan Semenchuk - 6 years, Kyle Bennett Semenchuk - 4 years, and Cooper James Brooks, 5 months, as well as many nieces and nephews who enjoyed visiting Aunt Helen in Maine.

Dear Susan and family - i worked with Helen and Evelyn Wry at the BOE when I first re-entered the work force after my sons were in school. I loved your mom - she was such a live wire - and just loved you and your children - her greatest joy was us calling her "Dammy". I smile while I think of me sneaking off to Hannah Krauss for chocolate - we would hide them in the closet so as not to share the 'good stuff'. Please accept my sincerest sympathy and find comfort in knowing how much she loved you all. Carol
