Obituary:
Dennis William Gaines Sr., 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 4th at Sierra Providence - East Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Dennis was the second of five sons born to Bernard & Theresa Gaines, Sr. on August 21, 1951 at the Trull Hospital in Biddeford, Maine. He was educated in Saco schools and attended Thornton Academy, Class of 1970.

Following High School, Dennis worked for many years as a carpenter and became an accomplished cabinet maker and wood worker. He worked for Unum in the security department for about 15 years and later went to school and became a long haul truck driver covering the whole United States. Following a disability, he retired to El Paso where he lived with his wife Jill.

Dennis loved woodworking and was a member of The Woodworkers Club of El Paso. Lately he had been making pens, pencils and bowls. Golf used to be his passion but he hadn't played many rounds in recent years. You couldn't go anywhere without Dennis knowing someone. He loved just sparking up a conversation with anyone nearby. Family was always important to him. He spent many hours a week helping Jill's elderly mother.

Dennis was predeceased by his father, Bernard, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jill of El Paso; two sons, Dennis, Jr and his wife Jaime of Buxton and Andrew of Saco. Also surviving is his mother Theresa, four brothers Bernard Jr., Douglas and David, all of Saco and Bruce of England as well as many nieces and nephews.
