A spring ceremony will take place at the gravesite in April 2015, when Martin will be interred in the South Buxton Cemetery adjoining the First Congregational Church of Buxton, known locally as Tory Hill Church.

Obituary:
Martin H. Jewett, age 61, formerly of Buxton and a resident of Hiram, Maine died suddenly on December 29, 2014 in North Carolina where he staying during the winter months. Martin was born in Sanford, Maine to Ethel M. and Dean F. Jewett. He graduated from Hebron Academy in South Paris, Maine and from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, later earning a M.A. Degree in History from the University of New Hampshire. He also attended one term in the country of Israel.
Martin was formerly married to Ann Peters Jewett; they have one son, Benjamin, who lives in Buxton.
Martin was the co-author of “The History of Hollis, Maine” and also researched and published books on the ancestry of the Maguire family of New England. For many years he was self-employed researching land titles and boundary disputes in the Registries of Deeds throughout Maine courthouses. His extensive knowledge of history and genealogy were instrumental in resolving complex issues faced by numerous law firms, utilities districts, municipalities and surveyors. Martin is also survived by his father and a brother; his mother predeceased him earlier in 2014.
