Friends and family may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco on Wednesday, January 14 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 15th at 11am followed by a committal at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Obituary:
Muriel E. Brown, 87, of Ocean Park passed away on January 10, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care. She was born on March 18, 1927 in Somerville, MA, the daughter of Gordon and Ruth Libby Strong.
Muriel graduated from Somerville High School in 1945 and attended North Central College in Naperville, IL. Muriel retired after 17 years of working as a teller at Bay Bank in Waltham, MA. Muriel was an out-going people person. She thrived in her daily interactions at the bank. She was well loved by all.
Muriel was a devoted Christian; she was member and sang in the Choir at the Baptist Church in Brookline, then attended United Baptist Church in Saco after her move to Maine.
Muriel was an excellent seamstress; she often could be found sewing on her Singer sewing machine. She made many of her own clothes as well as her daughter’s. Everything was beautifully made. Muriel also loved to play the piano. She was well-known for her delicious Toll House cookies. England, Scotland, Ireland and Europe were a few of the places she loved to travel, as well as the cruises and bus trips she enjoyed with family and friends.
She was predeceased by a brother David, a sister Nancy and her son-in-law Richard Digan.
Survivors include her sons Eric Brown and Jeffrey Brown of Ocean Park, a daughter Linda Digan of Saco, a brother Steve and his wife Geraldine Strong of Hope Sound, FL, a sister Elva and her husband Paul O’Donnell of Ocean Park, 2 grandchildren Christopher and Jennifer, 2 great grandchildren Zain and Michael; as well as many nieces and nephews.

To Eric, Jeffrey, & family, May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived to age 87. Muriel will be sadly missed by all who knew her including Del and I. It was a privilege to have known her. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
