Gloria May Googoo Spencer, 63, of Hollis, Maine passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 with her family by her side at Maine Medical Center after a long time battle with diabetes.
Gloria was born at Webber Hospital in Biddeford, Maine on April 16, 1951, a daughter to James and Claire Googoo. Her mother later remarried Albert Powers who helped raise her.
In December of 1973, Gloria married David Spencer of Westbrook, Maine. David was in the Coast Guard at the time and Gloria loved him very much. They share a son together Ricky Spencer whom she adored.
Gloria enjoyed crocheting and making fudge, she also enjoyed going to yard sales with David, but most of all her love was for her family, the sleepovers she had with her grandchildren Keisha, Beanie and Ricki Spencer, they were the center of her life.
Gloria is predeceased by her daughter Penny Lynn Powers, mother Claire E. Powers, father James J. Googoo, stepfather Albert J. P. Powers, sister Paula Powers Mitchell and a brother Joseph Powers.
Surviving are her husband David M. Spencer; son Ricky Spencer; grandchildren Keisha, Beanie and Ricki Spencer; daughter-in-law Patty Spencer; brothers Gordon Googoo, Gerald Powers, Robert Powers and sisters Gayle Houle, Jenny Smith and Lorraine MacLean.
