Gladys attended school in Leeds, graduated from Leavitt High School and then graduated from the University of Farmington with a Bachelors Degree in Education.
Working summers as a waitress in Ogunquit, she met one of the chefs, Edward L. Michaud, married him on Labor Day and then they took the train to Boston for a lifetime together. For forty years they lived in Stoneham, Massachusetts but returned to Maine to retire in Limington in 1978. She also enjoyed collecting stamps, reading poetry, gardening, bird watching, and sewing. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Her husband of sixty-two years died in 2000.
