A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Maine Veteranís Cemetery in Springvale on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 1pm. Richard Gerald Gadbois, 69, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. He was born January 13, 1945 in Biddeford, the son of Aldeus and Cecile Ouellette Gadbois.
He attended Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1964. He attended the University of Maine in Portland. Richard served for two years in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. Richard worked as a machinist at Saco Defense for 37 years. He was a member of the Machinists Union and the American Legion Post #137.
Richard was a sports enthusiast; he loved watching football, basketball and baseball games. He also enjoyed the tranquility of the beach with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years Marsha Winslow Gadbois, a daughter Julie Lynn Gadbois, a son Jason Ryan Gadbois, five brothers Jean Paul, Robert, Roger, Norman and Michael Gadbois; 3 sisters Theresa Bourque, Lorraine Gadbois, and Denise Guay; a grandson Jared Jacobs, all of Biddeford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
