Local arrangements are by Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Homes, 365 Main Street, Saco, ME. A private funeral service will be held from the Brasco & Sons Funeral Home, Waltham, MA. A memorial service will be followed by a mass of the resurrection at St. Julia R.C. in Weston, MA. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.

Palmira Vaccaro Giglia succumbed from a long and valiant battle with Parkinson's disease on August 19, 2014 in Saco, Maine. She was born March 3, 1936, in Aragona, Sicily, Italy. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Giglia. Loving mother of Rosemary Mergenthaler and her husband Peter of Water Mill, NY and Joanna Giglia of Saco, ME, devoted daughter of Josephine Vaccaro of Waltham, and sister of John Gino Vaccaro of Cambridge. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Palmira was the proprietor of Settebello of Boston a high end Italian Boutique on Newbury Street, Boston. She was an avid antique collector and appraiser. She enjoyed gardening, gourmet cooking and was an active member of the Audubon Society and the Junior League of Boston on Beacon Hill. Pam also enjoyed her private philanthropic endeavors.
