Lois Ann McInnis, of New Gloucester formerly of Saco, daughter of Arthur and Jean (Guptil) McInnis of Saco, passed away on Friday, July 18 as a result of complications associated with Berger’s disease. Lois attended schools in Saco and was a member of the class of 1975 at Thornton Academy.

While she held several jobs, she considered her full time occupation as being the best Aunt she could possibly be to each niece and nephew.

She leaves behind the great love of her life and her partner of 20 years, David Dichard. They spent many wonderful hours together taking long drives, getting lost on purpose, visiting flea markets, town fairs, festivals and visiting family.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Arthur J. McInnis Jr.

She is survived by her 10 brothers and sisters, Connie M. Polomski of Windham, Michael McInnis and his wife Helen, Mark McInnis and his wife Joanne, Kathryn McInnis Misenor and husband Brett all of Saco, Eric McInnis and his wife Mary of Springfield, Ohio, Neil McInnis and his wife Shirley of Mechanic Falls, Steven McInnis and his wife Jean of Hollis Center, Patricia McInnis Ross and husband Bob, Scott McInnis all of Saco, and Beth McInnis Rogers and husband Martin of Portland. She leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that all called her Aunt Lolo and have wonderful memories of her love.

Her love of life and sense of humor carried her through the health challenges of the last 20 years. She was a self defined “biker chick” and rebel who could talk history or French art with the same passion. She saved her softer side for the children that she made part of her life. They loved her for the big hearted, warm, loving person she was with them.

She will be sadly missed by her large and loving family as well as her large circle of close friends.

Lois was the best thing that ever happened to me. Her love was unconditional and we were more in love after 20 years than we were in the beginning. She will always be "My Girl" and I will always be, in her words, "My David". Even though we never legally married we considered ourselves Husband and Wife. I Love you sweetheart and nothing will ever heal the hole I have in my heart. You will be a part of me forever. Until we meet again my girl.
