Saco, Maynard John Cousens, 83, of Buxton Rd, passed away Saturday June 7, 2014 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born September 11, 1930 in Biddeford the son of Carroll Maynard and Hazel Pearl Romprey Cousens.
He attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy.
Maynard worked many years in logging, cutting trees, driving trucks and running bull dozers. He later worked in the shoe industry for Kesslin shoe and then for Lynn-Flex. Maynard will be most prominently remembered for owning and operating the Way Way Store in Saco, with his wife Catherine and Aunt Margaret ”Peggy” Tyrell.
Maynard enjoyed spending time with his family and caring for the family dog. He also enjoyed gardening, yard work, reading, mechanical work and woodworking.
He is predeceased by his wife Catherine R. Cousens in 2006.
He is survived by a son Donald E. Cousens and his wife Suzanne L. of Saco, a daughter Joanne L. Meza of Lockhart, Alabama, 2 grandchildren, Erin Lehouillier and her husband Kevin of Saco and Carl Redmon of Lockhart, Al, and 2 great grandchildren Johnathon Redmon of Orlando, Fl and Cartel Redmon of Lockhart, AL.

I miss you so very much, Dad. I have enjoyed so much our daily conversations over the years! I wish we could have had one more. I will take good care of your books. I know they meant a lot to you. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but I will not say goodbye, I will say see you again one day. Enjoy being back with Mom and tell her how much I love and miss her too.
