Obituary:
BAR MILLS- Thomas Daniel Cheney, age 51, of Main St., passed away on May 28, 2014 at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Biddeford on July 20, 1962, a son of the late Fred Cheney and Beverly (Davis) Usher and her husband John who reside in Eustis.
After attending Thornton Academy, Thomas went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army.
For 14 years, Thomas was employed at EAM in Scarborough as a mechanical technician. Most recently, Thomas was employed by Lanco for a year as a mechanical technician.
Thomas was an avid beagle enthusiast and was a member of the Southern Maine Beagle Club and the Kennebec Valley Beagle Club. He served as a AKC judge for beagle field trials for many years. He truly enjoyed spending time with his dogs in the woods with his family and beagle family. He was quite proud to have finished five field champions.
Thomas will always be remembered as a loving family man.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years- Jennifer (Duford) Cheney; his mother and stepfather; sons- Michael Chamard, Patrick Cheney of Bar Mills, and Daniel Cheney of Bar Mills; daughters- Chrystal Kendrix and Libby Cheney of Bar Mills; brothers- Fred Cheney of Neenah, WI and Robert Tripp of Saco; sisters- Deborah Perkins of Buxton, Pamela Dugas of Waterboro, and Barbara Maffei of Ortley Beach, NJ; and three grandchildren.

I live in North Carolina but met Tom several times since about 1990 at various field trials in the northeast. He always bent over backwards to make me feel welcome and was so helpful and kind hearted. He was an absolute gentleman- very giving and caring. He will be surely missed.
