Edward Earl Brackett - age: 70
(December 24, 1943 to January 04, 2014
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 4-7:30 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd) in Buxton (Bar Mills). At 7:30 PM a Masonic service, followed by a Buxton Fire Dept. remembrance will be held at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at Dow’s Corner Cemetery in Standish with military honors.
BUXTON- Edward Earl Brackett, age 70, passed away at his home on Jan. 4, 2014.
He was born in Portland on Dec. 24, 1943, a son of the late Laurence and Hazel (Moulton) Brackett.
After graduating from Bonny Eagle High School, Ed went on to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy and later in the U.S. Army.
He worked for many years at New England Telephone Company / AT&T. He later worked and retired from Anthem BC/BS as a telecommunications technician.
Ed was also very community oriented. He was a longtime volunteer with the Buxton Fire Department and Buxton Fire Police. He was a member of Buxton Masonic Lodge #115 AF&AM, Pleasant River Chapter #159 OES, and the Kora Shriners.
He will always be remembered for his enjoyment that he had with camping, hunting and fishing; and most of all- the love he had for family.
Besides his parents, Ed is predeceased by a son- Christopher Brackett.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife- Candy (Junkins) Brackett; son- Michael Brackett and his wife Jessica of Buxton; daughter- Crystal Arsenault and her husband Matthew of North Waterboro; brother- Albert Brackett of CT; sister- Pearl Morse of Hollis Center; and beloved grandchildren- Amber & Lauren Arsenault and Heather Brackett.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ed's passing. Carol will certainly miss him at the store and I will miss him assisting F&R where we were a good team while I served with fire-police. Our sincere condolences to Candy, Mike and Ed's entire family......we know he will rest in peace and be looking down on us with blessings!
